NIST MEP The National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP) is a network of more than 70 nonprofit centers dedicated to helping manufacturers better invest in their futures, increase productivity, improve profitability and enhance economic competitiveness. The national system not only invests financial resources in each center but also insures that center performance meets the expectations of its investors. NIST MEP provides a national knowledge sharing network linking thousands of manufacturing and business specialists committed to growing American manufacturing. NIST MEP also provides additional resources, services and support to help each center develop the capabilities needed to help the country's 355,000 small- and medium-sized manufacturers.
Dakota MEP receives support from North Dakota's lead economic development agency, the North Dakota Department of Commerce. Dakota MEP is an important component in helping with the expansion and growth of the state's new wealth creating companies.
USDA Rural Business Enterprise Grant
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) helps small manufacturers in the rural communities improve their performance.

They also like the fact that they can leverage a national network of resources through Dakota MEP. The private sector contributes direction and leadership to the MEP through the Dakota MEP Board of Directors. There are many additional ways the private sector is stepping forward to provide assitance and support to not only help grow manufacturing in the Dakotas, but to further develop the role of Dakota MEP in assisting that growth.

The ExporTech program is designed to help your company enter or expand into global markets, by assisting in the development of a customized international growth plan. Utilizing a team of exporting resources and experts, the Exportech Programs helps your company move quickly beyond just planning, into actual export sales.
The North Dakota Trade Office (NDTO)
The NDTO is dedicated to expanding North Dakota exports to high-demand foreign markets through advocacy, education and expertise. The Trade Office is the catalyst in a collaborative effort among the state’s universities, state and federal government agencies and private export service professionals that collectively provide North Dakota companies with the support they need to succeed in the global marketplace.
